Why this site exists

By Craig Joseph, MD ·

This is where I think out loud about clinical informatics, electronic health record usability, and the gap between the technology health systems buy and the work clinicians actually do.

My argument, in one sentence: most of the friction clinicians blame on “the EHR” is a design problem, not a software problem, and design problems can be fixed by people who decide to treat them as such.

If you lead a health system, run a quality program, or carry a CMIO’s pager, the writing here is meant to give you something usable without asking for anything in return. No pitch, no gated download. Just the argument and the evidence, so you can take it apart and decide what holds up.

More soon.
